Siglofest 2019: PINYAsarap!

Siglo - Asian Food Tourist

Siglo Modern Filipino marks its third anniversary by continuing to encourage and educate people to support and give tribute to the local pineapple farmers in Tagaytay.

Siglo (which means “century” in Tagalog), showcasing one hundred years of Filipino culture and cooking with heritage recipes from the major islands of the Philippines… Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Besides supporting local farmers, Siglo Modern Filipino is passionate about bringing to your table heritage Filipino dishes from different regions of the country.

Located in the popular weekend getaway of Tagaytay, Picnic Grove, here is a list of month-long activities at Siglo:

  1. Siglo Sari Sari : PINYAsarap products

Siglo has a Sari-Sari Pasalubong store where you can shop pasalubong goodies from all over the Philippines.

Heirloom ingredients used:
Chili Labuyo – A small chili pepper native to the Philippines.

Note: The chili labuyo is spicier compared to the bigger Thai version sold in the local market.

Himagsikan Wings (P240 – regular price)

If to compare to the spicy Buffalo chicken wings, Siglo’s version uses honey and bagoong (shrimp paste) for the kick.

You’ll love Siglo’s dishes that use the local ingredients with substitutes to ensure the dishes’ authenticity —  reinvented some of the recipes using heirloom ingredients in modern techniques and creativity.

Food is truly a big part of discovering the culture of a region. If you haven’t traveled the Philippines enough, Siglo can take you on a gastronomic journey with just a few bites. Visit Siglo Modern Filipino as we take you on a culinary tour of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao!
