Global Spanish Brand Debuts in the Philippines With Torres 5 Light
MANILA, Philippines — A Spanish Classic Finds a New Home in the Philippines
A taste of Spain is officially making its way to Filipino glasses as renowned spirits brand Torres enters the Philippine market through a new distribution partnership with Tanduay. Marking its local debut, the Spanish house is introducing Torres 5 Light, alongside other offerings that reflect its long-standing heritage and craftsmanship in spirits-making.
For Tanduay, the collaboration is more than just a business move—it’s a meeting of two legacies.
“The arrival of Torres in the Philippines marks the coming of two great houses that are united by a shared commitment to excellence and growth. This partnership reflects our vision to offer Filipino consumers world-class spirits,” said Lucio Tan III, President and CEO of Tanduay.
On the Torres side, the excitement is equally strong as the brand looks to connect with a new generation of drinkers.
“We are proud to bring the rich heritage of Spanish brandy to the Philippines. With Tanduay as our distributor, we are confident that Torres products will reach Filipino consumers who appreciate exceptional spirits with authentic Spanish tradition,” said Christian Visalli, Torres Spirits Global Managing Director.
A Spanish Brandy Designed for Easy Enjoyment
Leading Torres’ Philippine lineup is Torres 5 Light, a modern take on classic Spanish brandy. Made from quality grapes and aged in oak barrels using the traditional Solera method, it offers a lighter, more approachable profile—perfect for relaxed local drinking moments, without losing its premium character.
Best served over ice, Torres 5 Light pours a clear, medium-gold hue and opens with gentle aromas of grape, dried fruits, and vanilla. On the palate, it’s smooth and subtly sweet, revealing notes of prune, grape, and vanilla that linger pleasantly. Bottled at 25% ABV, it strikes a thoughtful balance between tradition, craftsmanship, and everyday enjoyment.
Alongside Torres 5 Light, the brand will also roll out other premium expressions nationwide, catering to a wide range of drinkers—from curious newcomers to those with a more refined taste for spirits.
A Legacy That Spans Centuries
Behind every bottle of Torres is a story rooted deeply in history. The Torres family has been cultivating vineyards in Penedès, Spain since the 16th century. In 1870, Jaime Torres Vendrell formally established Casa Torres, initially focused on winemaking. The brand’s journey into brandy began in 1928, when Juan Torres Casals introduced oak barrel aging for brandy distilled from the region’s finest white wines—a practice that would help define the house’s signature style.
Where to Find It
Torres 5 Light is now available at leading supermarkets and grocery stores nationwide. Additional Torres products are expected to arrive in the Philippine market within the first quarter of the year, giving Filipino consumers even more ways to experience this iconic Spanish brand.
